Outline of Research Theme
This research aims to create novel functional magnetic materials by means of interface engineering technology. Using iron, ranked at 4th in the most abundant materials in the earth, we explore a hidden gem of the material properties that do not show up in the bulk form. We particularly focus on spin/charge conversion in solid states which closely correlates with the spin-oribit interaction. Understanding of the spin-orbit interaction and new Fe-based functional materials to be made will have potential to bring about revolution in future information-processing electronics.
