Outline of Research Theme
In this quater century, many superconductors have been developed by mixing small amount of impurities to a mother insulator; the impurities donates chage carriers to the insulator, and the insulator changes to a superconductor. It is called "chemical doping". High-temperature cuprate superconductor was also developed by the chemical doping into Mott insulators. In this study, we proposes a new "field-effect" doping method to make superconductor, which has been studied in semiconductor physics. We expect that new superconductors will be developed in insulators where chemical doping cannot induce superconductivity.
