Thema:
High-Bandwidth Computing using Inter-chip Direct Optical Interconnections
Abstract:
On the basis of advanced optoelectronics technologies, real-application systems will be pursued that exploit direct optical interconnections between VLSI chips. Seeking high-bandwidth computing where we would benefit from the advantages optics/photonics may provide, we will develop killer application systems such as inter-processor or high-bandwidth network applications based on careful attention to their physical realization methods or control architectures.
