The subjects of the proposed research project are (1) fabrication of covalently-linked oligomers and nanoscale organized structures (supramolecular gels, liquid crystals, etc.) based on acyclic -conjugated units with anion binding ability, (2) regulation of the assembled structures by external stimuli (anion) to explore their novel properties, and (3) design, evaluation, and control of the prototype models to show the time-dependent transitions. image
