JST and the National Science Foundation of the United States signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC)

Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) of the United States signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) for research collaboration between JST and NSF on 7th October 2018 at Kyoto International Conference Center.

In April 2018, a meeting including exchange and cooperation between Japanese and the US researchers was made between the then Minister Hayashi (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology (MEXT), Japan) and Director Cordova (NSF). Both sides further discussed measures to enhance researcher exchange using appropriate approaches to each side's system of funding. As a novel framework, further opportunities for research exchange and cooperation between JST and NSF were considered.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by the current Minister Shibayama (MEXT). Further joint activities and results of science, technology and innovation of Japan and the US are expected by strengthening cooperation between JST and NSF.
