World Social Science Forum(WSSF) 2018 was held for the first time in Asia at Fukuoka International Congress Center in Fukuoka City on September 25-28, 2018, under the theme “Security and Equality for Sustainable Futures”. (Co-host: Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST))
The Opening Ceremony was attended by Their Imperial Highnesses the Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Japan on day 1.
On day 2, the plenary session entitled “Securing Co-evolution of Human and Artificial Intelligence: Role of Social Science and Humanities for SDGs” was conducted by JST. (Chair: Jiro Kokuryo, Vice President, Keio University and JST-RISTEX Program Supervisor)
In addition, some parallel sessions related JST's activities were held during the forum, and active discussions took place at each session among the participants from various countries.
