膜交通の機能改変による高機能植物の開発

 植物細胞の中にはさまざまな細胞小器官が存在し、それらは膜交通と呼ばれる仕組みにより結ばれています。私達は最近、植物特有の膜交通経路が、塩ストレス応答や病原菌との相互作用において重要な役割を果たしていることを突き止めました。本研究では、その仕組みを解明するとともに、この膜交通経路を最適化し、塩ストレスや病気に強い植物を作出し、植物バイオマスや食料の増産、それに伴う二酸化炭素資源化効率の上昇を目指します。
