Elucidation of the molecular mechanism of hybrid vigor and its application to high biomass crops

Elucidation of the molecular mechanism and identification of the causative genes that lead to increased biomass are necessary to increase crop productivity. The aim of this study is to identify the genes involved in hybrid vigor, whose effect on increased productivity is already known. The function of identified genes will be assessed and applied to improve breeding efficiency and production of high biomass crops. In future, I would like to contribute to increasing the productivity of commercial crops such as canola.
