Individuals with chromosomal abnormalities, including Down syndrome, have a higher risk for many complications. The roles of aberrant chromosome in these complications, however, are not fully understood. We here attempt to investigate the pathogenic mechanisms underlying complications in chromosomal abnormalities, using disease-specific human iPS cells. The final goal of this project is to unravel the pathogenesis of pediatric intractable disease and to establish the treatment based on clinical findings.
