Researchers Theme Outline
New and emerging information platforms (e.g., Web, text messaging, social media) speed up information distribution. At the same time, these platforms have potential to escalate turbulence and anxiety in human society, spreading biased and false rumors. The goal of this research is to provide human society with a variety of criteria for making decisions about safety and risk by analyzing and aligning logical structures behind distributed information. In order to achieve this goal, this research also advances foundations of natural language processing especially for acquiring and reusing knowledge of entities and events mentioned on the Web.
