Block copolymers build up well-defined microdomains due to phase separation of two or more incompatible polymer blocks linked together. The sizes of these microdomains are limited to molecular dimensions of polymers, as such, are tens of nanometers called mesoscales. This project aims to develop active mesostructures based on orientational control of the block copolymer microdomains by light. The goal of the project is to create photocontrollable "active" nanosystems and devices by hybridizing the active mesostructure with nanoparticles.
