Plant shoots and roots grow upward and downward, respectively.

Plants can sense the tilt of organs relative to the direction of gravity and then reorient their growth direction (gravitropism).

Although gravitropism has attracted much attention from plant biologists during the past two centuries, molecular mechanism underlying gravitropism has remained elusive.

The goal of my research is to understand the mechanism of sensing the relative directional change of gravity in gravitropism.
