Associate Professor,Department of Immunology,Graduate School of Medicine,Tokyo University

Recent studies have revealed several molecules critically involved in the immune recognition of pathogens.

As a next step, it is required to comprehend the actual connections among these molecules in vivo.

In this research, I will focus on the intestinal immune system and see the real-time picture of interfaces between intestinal bacteria and immune cells by imaging techniques.

My goal is to gain new insights into the mechanisms for pathogenesis of chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, and develop a new therapeutic intervention.
