Clarification of digit identity determination by quantitative developmental biology

We have five distinct digits along the antero-posterior axis in the forelimb and the hindlimb. In this study, I focus on the secreted factor as morphogen and its signaling activity.

In the developing limb bud, it is thought that each digit identity is specified by concentration dependent manner of morphogen.

I study how this morphogen gradient provides quantitative difference of positional information in the limb bud cells and makes different digit morphology along the antero-posterior axis by using quantitative developmental biology.
