This project is coceived based on the notion that dynamic assembly of signaling molecules in the plasma membrane nanodomains such as rafts and protein clusters is critically important for signal transduction.

In this project,I wish to elucidate the raft-based signal transduction mechanism, using advanced single-molecule tracking and single-molecule FRET techniques.

Furthermore, since my preliminary result suggests that each single-molecule event lasts for only a fraction of a second, 10,000-fold shorter than the bulk averaged event, I will investigate the possibility of pulse-based digital signaling.
