Cell adhesion to the extracellular
matrix (ECM) plays a crucial role in many fundamental cellular
processes ranging from growth and differentiation to embryonic
morphogenesis or regenerative process such as wound healing.
It has been suggested that the
cell distinguishes not only component of the environment
ECM but also the difference of physical properties of the
substrate.
To elucidate such
mechanosensory system of the cell, I fabricate new culture
substrate to analyze mechanical interaction between the
cell and the ECM using nanotechnology method.
