In order to understand dynamic and complex behaviors in organisms, systematic analyses on spatio-temporal pattern formations in the simplest model organisms.

Aim of this study is to reveal basic principles for such pattern formations and their physiological relevance in cyanobacteria through long-term single-cell-level observations/manipulations, molecular genetics and theoretical considerations.
