Numerous complex and significant biological functions are performed by protein complexes through assembly and disassembly of elementary molecules. Conventional analytical methods are not well suited to detect the attachment and detachment of protein molecules in time-dependent manner. In this study, through a successful application to biological clock proteins, the small-angle x-ray scattering technique will be established as a general tool to collect kinetic and structural information on assembly and disassembly processes in solution. |
