Abstract

In medical applications, the random chromosomal insertion of exogenous genetic elements results occasionally in malignant transformation of normal tissue cells. In this research, I try to establish "Cytoplasmic persistent expression RNA vector" which possesses stability and safety of the transgene expression from the non-cytopathic Sendai virus strain, and apply it to gene therapy and regenerative medicine. Moreover, the analysis of the mechanism of the persistent infection will lead to improve the technologies for sustaining RNAs in the tissues and to establish the method for artificial removal of the vectors from the target cells.
