Quality control for UV-damaged RNAs

Cellular exposure to genotoxic stress (UV, gamma-irradiation and cytotoxic drugs) induces various insults to RNA. However, unlike DNA damage, little is known about cellular handling of RNA damage. In this project, using mammalian fibroblast cells, the fate of RNA damage after UV-irradiation is investigated in detail.
