Abstract
Recent progress in genomics has revealed that eukaryotic cells contain numerous non-coding RNAs that are totally uncharacterized. Most of these unknown molecules are classified into mRNA-like non-coding RNAs, which shows similar properties of protein-coding mRNAs, To understand molecular nature of mRNA-like non-coding RNAs, we use Drosophila as a model system and are trying to elucidate their biological functions by genetical approaches.
