Abstract

Recently, it has become recognized that the stop codon is not just a genetic code for translation termination but a key player which controls mRNA dynamics in protein synthesis, such as selenoprotein synthesis, translational frameshift, mRNA decay and so on. The project aims are to elucidate the mechanisms for stop codon related RNA dynamics in eukaryote enabled by tRNA mimicking protein factor eRFs and its practical applications.
