Regulation of bone metabolism through osteoclast cell-cell fusion
Abstract
Bone is continuously remodeled via bone resorption by osteoclasts and bone formation by osteoblasts, and that the understanding of whole bone metabolism is required to develop therapies against bone diseases such as osteoporosis. In this study, we try to elucidate the regulatory mechanisms of bone homeostasis and their failure through DC-STAMP, which regulates osteoclast cell-cell fusion and bone metabolism.
