Research for mechanisms and prevention of metabolic syndrome in offspring with intrauterine undernutrition
Abstract
Metabolic syndrome consisting of obesity, impaired glucose metabolism, hypertension is increasing in modern societies. Recent epidemiological study revealed that intrauterine undernutrition is a risk factor of metabolic syndrome. In this study, we elucidate mechanisms for metabolic disorders in adipose tissue and other organs in mice model of intrauterine undernutrition. We also investigate diagnostic and/or preventive strategy for this metabolic pathology.
