Stomatal movement and regulation of the plasma membrane H+-ATPase
Stomatal pores surrounded by a pair of guard cells regulate CO2 uptake and optimize photosynthetic CO2 fixation. Stomata open in response to blue light through the activation of plasma membrane H+-ATPase. Phototropins act as a blue light receptor. In this study, I aim to clarify the molecular mechanism of stomatal movement using Arabidopsis mutants and the regulatory mechanism of plasma membrane H+-ATPase, which not only mediate stomatal opening but homeostasis of plant cell.
