Outline
In the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), where diverse proteins are synthesized, ER-associated degradation (ERAD) plays a pivotal role in quality control by removing aberrant or unnecessary proteins. In this study, we visualize the spatiotemporal dynamics of ERAD machinery to elucidate the link between its spatial configuration and physiological functions. We seek to understand the sophisticated and complex mechanisms supporting ER homeostasis from the new perspective of higher-order structures.
