In this research we develop the base of “human-machine collaboration” which makes it possible for robots to carry out everyday tasks in collaboration with human partners through communication based on true understanding. The framework of “symbol emergence in robotics”, which deals with true understanding in real-world, will be extended to communication and the use of big data so that we can develop novel technologies for robots that can acquire language and actions, and truly understand their surrounding environment. The robots with the developed technologies will be evaluated in a practical manner.
