Promoting Dissemination of Scientific and Technological Information
Information is essential to R&D and Innovation. As part of the national effort to promote Japan's R&D via STI (scientific and technical information), JST has produced numerous S&T-related databases and portals dedicated to science community and policy decision makers alike. These databases and portals offer S&T literature search and databases on failure cases, to mention a few. JST's Web-based extensive STI services are readily available.

Electronic journal site for Japan's academic societies
- J-STAGE: Japan Science and Technology Information Aggregator, Electronic
- E-journal publishing platform for Japan' academic societies
- Full texts of about 600 journals are available either for a fee or free of charge
- About 90% of abstracts available in English

- Researcher profile databases with professional carrier records and achievements
- Records and achievements on some 200,000 researchers in Japan are registered for promotion of collaboration between academia-government-industry.
Career database for S&T personnel
- JREC-IN: Japan Research Career Information Network
- Job search service for researches seeking positions in domestic institutes
- Job seekers can receive via E-mail the job opening information, which matches the preferred conditions.

- J-GLOBAL: JST General Link Center of Basic Information for All Science and Technology (Japanese Only)
- A new service to identify and connect different types of S&T information to each other normally not available in a single search, thus encouraging development of new ideas and insights
- Based on the correlations among basic information, the linking service will offer increased prospects for unexpected discovery and cross-disciplinary breakthroughs.
