Title

How to Develop Your Diplomacy as a Researcher: Researchers and Diplomacy

Date & Time

Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 16:30–18:00

Abstract

When researchers start their research overseas or with foreign researchers at the early stage of their career, what are the key points to achieving the greatest possible results? For young researchers who aim to advance into Western developed countries and for PIs who give guidance to young researchers, this seminar will introduce important points when they start international collaboration, from the viewpoint of “individual researcher’s diplomacy” and “national-level diplomacy.” This seminar will also explain about JST’s new SICORP program, “ReNewMAP (Researcher New-mode Mobility Accelerator Program).”(*) Please feel free to ask questions and exchange opinions with the speakers who are acquainted with this program.

(*)SICORP (Strategic International Collaborative Research Program) is one of JST’s projects to promote international collaborative scientific research. The project started as a competitive resource project in FY2009, with the aim of sharing Japan’s outstanding research results with the world, and achieving synergistic effects and mutually developing scientific technology with other countries/regions, which can be the source of Japan's competitive power. Please check the site below for the call for applications for “ReNewMAP (Researcher New-mode Mobility Accelerator Program).”
