Outline
This project aims to develop a highly efficient photo-energy conversion system in a molecular-modified electrode. Enhancement of photon-molecule interactions is achieved by conversion of propagating massless photons to localized heavy photons at the interface. Charge separation efficiency is increased by using three-dimensionally integrated photo-functional molecular thin layers. Simultaneous utilization of these two concepts is realized only at atomically defined electrode surfaces.
