Development of a Theory of Non-symbolic Computation and its Application to Structural LearningtIn this project, I aim to bridge the gap between the concept of information in the real world, which is represented by naturally analog information such as images, videos, and various measurement data, and that in the cyber world, which is digital and exemplified by the Internet. I propose to develop a theory that represents the computation, which is the fundamental concept that characterizes structures in general, directly in non-symbolic spaces, thereby uniformly treating general information with complex structure. I also aim to apply the theory for the purpose of finding patterns in high-dimensional spaces such as that of images.
