Molecular basis of non-genetic tumor progression driven by epithelial oncogenic inflammation

Tumor progression is accomplished not only by genetic mutations but also by non-genetic oncogenic alterations through cell-cell interactions. Using Drosophila genetics, I will elucidate the molecular basis of “oncogenic inflammation” that drives non-genetic tumor malignancy. This study will provide an understanding of the basic principle for epithelial tumor progression through cell-cell communications.
