In 2005,

Director of Research, Chief Scientist, Nanotechnology Research Team Leader, Director of the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology in 2007, Deputy General Manager, Science and Safety Policy Research Division.

After serving as a Deputy General Manager of the Advanced Business Promotion Division, a General Manager of Human-Life Division, and a General Manager of Research Center for Policy and Economics, assumed the current position.

Member of Materials Field Working Group, Member of Council for Science and Technology Policy, member of Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, member of Science and Technology Japan, Provisional member of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Member of Engineering Academy of Japan.

In the last 30 years, Japan's international competitiveness has continued to decline. Nominal GDP per capita, that was at the top of the G20 in 1995, continues to remain unchanged for 30 years. The difference among Japan, the U.S., and China is increasing in terms of innovation and advanced technology. Was the researcher completely lacking in effort? No, it is not at all. The essence of Japan's problem is not so much the innovation and advanced technology itself, but rather the failure to implement them in society and lead to social change. I believe that people should have a strong awareness for technologies and innovations should be completed by connecting them to social implementation and transformation. This program is intended to contribute to policies for social realization. I have huge expectations for the will to bring it to the point of proper implement.
