JST and Leibniz Association Signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the Leibniz Association* signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) on May 28, 2015 at Miraikan (The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation).

A discussion about possible collaboration between the Leibniz Association and JST was brought up when Dr. Matthias Kleiner, President of Leibniz Association, and a Director of Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research (A member of the Leibniz Association) visited JST and ‘The Leibniz Association - JST Mini Workshop’ was held on December 10, 2014. The dialogues between the Leibniz Association and JST have been continued, and we have reached a point to conclude a MoC between both parties.

This MoC includes collaborative activities such as the promotion of cooperative research projects conducted by scientists of both countries, joint seminars, symposia and other scientific meetings, personnel exchanges, collaborations on exhibition and joint workshops between Miraikan and 8 research museums owned by the Leibniz Association, and other cooperative activities as may be decided by the participants.

JST aspires to make a contribution to further increase Japan’s STI capabilities through close and active collaboration with the Leibniz Association.

JST, an integrated organization of science and technology in Japan, establishes an infrastructure for the entire process from the creation of knowledge to the return to the society. For more information, visit http://www.jst.go.jp/EN/
