Memorandum of Cooperation Signed with Funding Agencies
of Visegrad Group (V4) Countries

On September 23, 2014, JST signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) at the Slovak Embassy of Japan with funding organizations of the Visegrad Group*1 (V4) countries to promote science and technology cooperation. The organizations which signed the MoC with JST were the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic , the Hungarian Scientific Research Fund, the National Center for Research and Development of Poland, the Slovak Academy of Sciences and the International Visegrad Fund*2. The signing ceremony was attended by distinguished representatives of each organization as well as honorable guests from the Slovakian government and from the Embassies of Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic in Slovakia.

The signatories share the expectation that excellent collaboration will be realized based on the MoC, creating avenues for innovative outcomes through activities such as workshops and joint research projects.

On 22nd of September, Dr. Nakamura, President of JST, gave a presentation on the ‘Vision of Japanese Science for the Near Future’ at the Slovak Academy of Sciences. Dr. Nakamura and his delegation were also warmly welcomed by the staff and researchers in their visit to the Institute of Physics, the Institute of Electrical Engineering and the Polymer Institute of the Academy.
