President Nakamura's Visit to London, England

President Nakamura visited London from April 14 and 17. During his stay, he attended the Science and Technology in Society (STS) Forum Workshop and Council Meeting and paid a visit to related institutions where he had discussions with the concerned parties.

In the ‘Innovation, Science and Technology Workshop’ of the STS forum, where government officials and business leaders of Japan and the EU gave lectures, President Nakamura also gave a lecture in Session 1 entitled “Public-private interactions for successful innovation - The role of government/public sector and the role of private sector”.

To investigate the front-line research trend in the UK, President Nakamura visited the University of Cambridge, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), the Centre for Integrative Systems Biology and Bioinformatics (CISBIO), which is the affiliate of Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), and the Hitachi Cambridge Laboratory. He also visited the research site of Dr. Hidekazu Kurebayashi, a researcher of JST PRESTO (Sakigake), at University College London.
