JST and German Research Foundation (DFG) held a joint workshop on "Nanoelectronics" for the third time. Lively discussion was held in the workshop.
JST and DFG have started cooperation in the framework called Strategic International Cooperative Program in the field of Nanoelectronics since 2006. Both parties are calling for proposals of joint cooperative research projects on "Nanoelectronics" from 15th January to 19th March. As a part of this cooperation, a Japan-Germany joint workshop was held from 21st to 23rd January in Kyoto (Japan).
Dr. Kazunobu Tanaka, Principal Fellow at JST gave a keynote speech on “Overview of Emerging Nanotechnology” and about 30 speakers from both countries gave lectures on their excellent researches. Lively discussion was held on 5 themes, “Nanoscience and Nanomaterials Future Electronic Devices”, “Nanoelectronic Devices Technologies”, “Nanomaterials for Renewable Energy”, “Measurement and Characterization” and ”Theoretical and Computational Approaches”.
