The control technology of characteristics and functionalities of new cellulose-based nano materials, which we have initially developed, is studied and established through a collaborating research system between science, agriculture and engineering groups. The new nano-celluloses thus obtained are fabricated and used as devices in high-technology fields, which leads to fixing and turning of carbon dioxide originating from plant biomass into products. These research and development create a new carbon material stream from forest to frontier industries, which contributes to establishment of a sustainable society. We aspire to the top ranks of new green-innovation technology fields in the world through this research project.
