The aim of our program is to understand molecular mechanisms underlying the genome reprogramming. For this purpose we have developed two technologies. One is a method for the DNA methylome analysis and the other is that for transcriptome analysis with a small number of cells. The former enabled us to investigate the genome reprogramming process at somatic cell nuclear transfer and the latter will enable us to analyze the cells just after the virus infection in the generation of iPS. Through the comparison between the results obtained by the two approaches, we attempt to identify genes responsible for genome reprogramming.
