One of the most fascinating properties of liquid crystals is their ability to self-organize into various structures with characteristic lengths of several nanometers to micrometers. This project aims to realize tunable metamaterials with properties such as negative refraction and asymmetric transmission, by dispersing and aligning submicron and nano-sized particles in liquid crystalline materials.
