CONCERT-Japan is a European Union (EU) funded project in the 7th Framework Programme for Research and Technology Development (FP7). The Project aims to promote effective and coordinated science and technology cooperation between European countries and Japan with a view to further expanding and harmonizing already existing cooperation between them.
The research field of “Photonic Manufacturing”

Two years
10 million yen from JST to the Japanese researchers per project, over a period of two years, inclusive of overhead costs
Funding provided within this call was intended to enhance the capacity of the applicants to collaborate. Funding was therefore provided mainly in support of collaborative activities such as travel and holding symposia/seminars and may cover some local research costs, such as those for facilities, equipment and consumables, that are necessary for the collaboration. Overhead costs can be also claimed though they should be no more than 30 percent of direct costs.
Proposals were subjected to evaluation by online peer review and an evaluation committee made up of members elected by the participating funding agencies. The participating funding agencies then met to decide on project selection, which was based on discussion of the results of that comprehensive evaluation.
The following general evaluation criteria were applied to each application:
1. Scientific excellence of the project and the project partners
2. Methodology and work plan
3. Expected impact of project results
4. Added values of multilateral cooperation
