A Novel Cobalt Catalyst Produced Useful Building Blocks with Water as a Sole Side Adduct
– Environmentally Benign and Low-Costing Medicine Synthesis –

They found that a cobalt catalyst promotes dehydrative direct functionalization of carbon-hydrogen bond in organic molecules with allylic alcohols, leading to short, low-costing, and environmentally-friendly synthesis of medicines.
