Outline

The objective of this study is to develop a high-throughput field phenotyping system that uses imagery from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). This system extracts growth information of an individual plant such as vegetation cover ratio and shoot height from aerial images to keep track of the total crop growth process. This research also employs hyperspectral images to obtain spectral response of the leaf surface. Using all the information collected from the images over a crop growing season, machine learning approach estimates crop yield and predict disease infection.
