Outline

Plants memorize the past stress condition and prepare for recurring stresses by unknown mechanisms. I will use pathogen response as a model, and exploit our unique genetic materials and the latest (epi)genomic technologies, to explore epigenetic mechanisms for memorization of stresses and adaptation to biotic stress conditions. I will also aim to develop a new way of improving plant’s phenotypes in biotic stress conditions by artificially altering epigenetic information.
