Outline

This project aims at transformation of hydrocarbons via catalytic formation of OH radicals from O2 and H2O mixture at high temperature. The reaction includes oxidative coupling of methane where methane is transformed to form ethylene in one single reactor with high selectivity. Elucidation of reaction mechanism as well as in situ characterizations will be conducted. The catalysts will be applied to various transformations of longer hydrocarbons, to broaden their potential application.
