Outline

Because silicon is a non-toxic, cost effective, and naturally abundant semiconductor, it has many compelling advantages, which make it an ideal thermoelectric material. Here a bulk-nanostructured high-efficiency thermoelectric silicon with high mobility as well as low lattice thermal conductivity will be developed by an advanced method namely modulation doping. The present study will contribute to create an energy harvesting technology which can supply microwatt or milliwatt electricity stably.
