Outline

By utilizing the state-of-art technology of intense terahertz pulse generation on tabletop, I will investigate the nature of ordered phases in quantum many-body systems and explore unresolved phenomena associated with spontaneous symmetry breaking. A superconductor is a good representative for manifestation of macroscopic quantum condensates. Elucidation of nonequilibrium superconducting dynamics and artificial control of superconductors by optical electric field will open up a new research field where condensed matter physics and advanced photonics are strongly merged.
