Outline

We investigate ultra-cold chemical reaction processes in a hybrid system of laser-cooled neutral atoms and ions. Our study will clarify how the quantum statistics of the reactant atoms and ions affect the chemical reactions. The insight provided from this study will be helpful to tackle many long-standing issues in the field of atomic/molecular physics and quantum chemistry. We believe this research will make an important contribution to create a new inter-disciplinary research field.
