Outline

We aim to demonstrate Magnetic Reconnection between kilo-tesla-class magnetic fields induced by peta-watt laser pulses and develop a novel particle source using the strong electric field generated in the Magnetic Reconnection region. The goal of this investigation is (i) To demonstrate mega-electronvolt-class ion acceleration via Magnetic Reconnection and (ii) To evaluate the feasibility of the ion source toward applications in future.
