Outline

This research proposes a mathematical model that is sufficient for reproducing the human gait function; such function is considered as “subconscious sensory motor integration.” The model develops into a walking guidance technology based on gait motion prediction. The model expresses the complex phenomena of gaiting strategy as a structure similar to actual nerve physiological findings in order to realize gait analysis, prediction, and guidance. The technology aims to achieve walking guidance that reflects pedestrian movement intentions by integrating the mathematical model with the walking guidance method, in addition to real-time gait state estimation and prediction.
